The science of delivery
Seatbelts, everyone. There is more than one way into the body, and the route a medicine takes changes how much of it arrives, how fast, and how steadily it stays. The destination is always the bloodstream, but there are four very different ways to get there. Let's take the journey and see what happens along the way.
Here is the one fact that explains why there are many different routes. Anything you swallow is routed through your liver first, and the liver breaks down a share of it on the way. Pharmacologists call this the first pass effect. That single tollbooth is the reason the other routes exist. Injection, nasal, and patch are all clever ways into the blood that skip the liver entirely. It works the same no matter what is making the trip, a GLP, a peptide, glutathione, all of it.
Injection
A subcutaneous injection places the medicine in the soft layer of tissue just beneath your skin. That tissue has a modest blood supply on purpose, it acts like a slow faucet, letting the compound trickle into your bloodstream gradually instead of all at once. That is why many injectables are dosed weekly rather than daily: the body keeps drawing from that small reservoir for days. Because it enters the blood directly from the tissue, it never passes through the liver on its way in, so nearly the full dose reaches circulation intact.
Oral
Swallow a tablet and it travels down to the gut, where it dissolves and is absorbed through the intestinal lining. But every blood vessel leaving the gut runs straight to the liver first, the body's quality control checkpoint, which filters and breaks down a share of whatever passes through. That is the first pass effect in action. It is also why a swallowed dose often has to be larger, since the amount that finally reaches your bloodstream depends on how much the liver takes out along the way, and on factors like food in your stomach that shift absorption from one day to the next.
RDT
A rapidly dissolving tablet, or RDT, is placed under the tongue and melts within seconds rather than being swallowed. The floor of the mouth sits over a rich bed of blood vessels, so the medicine is absorbed directly there and carried into circulation before it ever reaches the gut. Because it never travels through the liver on the way in, an RDT sidesteps the first pass effect entirely, letting more of the dose arrive intact and noticeably faster than a swallowed pill.
Nasal Spray
The inside of your nose is coated in a thin, moist membrane sitting directly on top of a dense network of blood vessels, with very little standing between the two. A fine mist settles onto that membrane and is absorbed almost immediately, passing into the bloodstream without a trip through the gut or liver. That direct entry is why nasal delivery acts fast, often among the quickest routes available short of a needle. There is a frontier here too: a small region high in the nose connects unusually closely to the nervous system, a path researchers are actively studying.
Patch
A transdermal patch holds a supply of medicine against the skin and lets it diffuse through, molecule by molecule, at a slow and remarkably constant rate. Instead of the peak and fall you get from a single daily dose, the patch produces a steady, flat level in the blood, no spike in the morning, no dip at night. The catch is the skin itself, which evolved to keep things out: only molecules that are both small and fat soluble can slip between skin cells, so the patch is a brilliant option for the compounds that qualify, and simply not possible for the ones that do not.
Most people think of delivery method as a matter of comfort, needle or no needle. It is so much more than that. The form is not a detail layered on top of the medicine, it is part of how the medicine does its job, shaping how much reaches you, how fast, and how steadily it works. Same compound, a different route, a genuinely different journey through the body.

Hey, I’m Sean. And I want to start with something simple: you don’t need to be fixed.
The work we do here isn’t about adding more to your plate or pushing harder than you already are. It’s about getting underneath the patterns that have been quietly running the show, the ones you didn’t choose, that were shaped long before you had the tools to do anything about them.
I’ve spent over four decades in personal development, worked with thousands of people across the world, and trained through the Amen Clinics, one of the most respected brain health organizations in existence.
I’ve also written books, built programs, and made just about every mistake a person can make while trying to figure out how to actually change.
What I’ve learned is this: most people aren’t stuck because they lack discipline or desire. They’re stuck because they haven’t yet met the version of themselves that makes the right choices feel natural.
The answer, I found, lives deeper than motivation. It lives in identity, in the patterns wired into us long before we had the awareness to choose them, long before we even knew our own name.
That understanding became the foundation for NESS, Neuro Encoded Self Sculpting, a proprietary framework designed to help people understand how their mind actually works, recognize the patterns shaping their behavior, and begin building a version of themselves that reflects who they truly want to be.
That’s what Way Better Mind is built for. Through the NESS framework, and the tools, community, and experiences we’ve built around it, my goal is to help you understand how your mind works, recognize what’s been shaping your behavior, and start building something more aligned with who you want to be.
You’re not starting over. You’re seeing clearly, maybe for the first time.
And from here, everything changes.
Not because you’re becoming someone new.
But because you’re uncovering who you already are.
It's about to get Way Better!
Sean
